Poem But No Rose
[Poem But No Rose]
Around the roses go
into an arc
to show
upon the table into a vase
a wash,
the colored mesh
that
sits gracefully
with whispers of sunlight
that catch the eye,
and
sprinkles joy into the soul
or by love into the heart
and ask,
by what
love is this
a painted moment
within my own mind.
************
in the blackness
still
of
the
night
(the number says morning
but i say
i'd rather
be
asleep)
coughitude
wakes
and keeps me awake
and
coughing
a rooster with no watch
keeps guessing
picture-skew
is
not what
appears
on my mind
or
the page
just
take the
pill
and
wait
and wait
thanks for
(always)
sitting up with
me
************
if i feel pulled
in different
directions
by
You
i must be still
and quiet
so i can
feel
You
guiding me
instead of
striding forward
on my
own
will
one signpost
many directions
but perhaps
not all at
once
and
one path
may have
more than one name
if my
vessel
is not large enough
or
tough enough
for all the paths
You
name
then
i must make myself
larger and tougher
how many
ports-of-call
has one ship?
one at a time
one after another
i may
be
an ocean liner
carrying many people
as i go
and
at once
a
battleship
all according
to Your will
now
and next
there
is no how
there is no why
(both answers are You)
there is
only
listen
and do
and keep on stroking

Rainbow Love
[RainBow Love]
I'll greet the sunlight of early
morning
cheerfully, within my heart to beg,
what's one more day a
waiting
the arrival of such a splendid rainbow
of raining
love.
I'll Great the kiss upon the sky's awakening
to do me with want,
within my heart to beg,
and shine the days away with waiting
the songs
that steal my heart, and rainbows glowing
an arc to rain this love.
Oh
shine, my dearest of colors
that weep within my mind,
and beg for mercy
upon the arrival of God
this great rainbow of everlasting love
an arc to
promise from a flood.
